Legal Question in Business Law in Arizona

Violation of the Law?

When we called last month to request authorization (RMA) to return some faulty products, we were told that we would need to contact the manufacturer in China. This is in sharp contrast to an email to someone who posed as a prospective customer. Seller always honored their product warranties of 6 mos/1 yr, depending on the item, as evidenced by records on file. After Seller terminated my account, they changed the terms of the warranty. A recent email shows they refused to issue two RMA numbers per our request. Their catalog states that ''after the 30-day period, the manufacturer's warranty applies and customers need to contact the manufacturer for repair or replacement.'' I never had to do that in the past. Most of the items purchased are made in China and had their label on them. It seems neither fair nor feasible to expect me to go through a Chinese source and keep my Blind/Low Vision customers waiting for a product replacement. Seller seems to be treating me differently than other customers - as evidenced in their email correspondence. I have no written agreement with Seller, but plently of written evidence showing the lousy way they treated me.

Re: Violation of the Law?

This is a consumer law question, not a business law question. I advise you to re-submit in that category on the Law Guru site.

I advise people to be extremely careful in dealing with companies from China, Nigeria and the Ukraine. There is a lot of fraud out of those places and it is almost impossible to get recourse. Look at the information sites on eBay for more information on these countries and fraud.
