Little League 12yr old not allowed to play majors
My son tried out for a local little league team in the major league division. The president of the league stated that all 12 year olds that were not a ''Safety Concern'' would be drafted into the major league.
When I was requested to manage a minor league team I was informed that my son would be playing on my team because he was deemed a ''Safety Concern''.
I witnessed his tryout were he caught one out of three fly balls to center field, three out of four grounders, and took his swings in the batters box. A player trying out after my son looked lost trying to catch fly balls and performed equal to my son in the other areas. This player was drafted into the majors when my son was not. I watched the tryouts and I would have been concerned about this other player being drafted, not my son. My son played last year in the minor league and caught for the team I managed.
If I have an independent evaluation done by a local instructional company, who have many ex-pro baseball players and high school coaches working for them, and the evaluate him as not a ''Safety Concern'' would I have a case against the local little league team.

Re: Little League 12yr old not allowed to play majors
It is my opinion that you do not have any recourse for the exercise of judgement made by the Little League coaches. After all, a mistake in the other direction could well lead to a claim against them for negligence in their decision to let your son play. As a former Little League coach and manager, I can say your better off having your son move up more slowly than too rapidly. Both of you might exercise some patience.
