Legal Question in Technology Law in Arizona

Threat of legal action for something I didn't do

On a message board a person has threatened to sic the FBI on me for issuing death threats over the net. I made no such threat, so the person in question is basically threatening to tell lies about me to the FBI. Is the very threat to do this illegal (if so, what can I do about it?), or is it only illegal if I actually do receive a knock on my door from the FBI? If so, what can I do about it?

Thankyou.

Re: Threat of legal action for something I didn't do

If someone makes a false report to a law enforcement agency, and it is proven to be such, then you don't need to do anything. The agency will take it from there.

If such conduct contiues, you can make a complaint with the police for harrassment.
