Legal Question in Constitutional Law in Arizona

Right to Refuse Service?

My friend and I worked in the same big-name hotel at one of the restaurants on property. I'm a bartender, she was a server. Circumstances arose and she walked out during her shift a few months ago. Since then, she has come to say hi to me three times. She has always been friendly and courteous and everyone who works with me loved her while she was there, and seemed happy to see her...except for one manager. The first two times were fine. Tonight, the one manager expressed being ''uncomfortable'' with her presence, and asked her to leave and not come back. My friend was not being impolite or disruptive to anyone. She pays for her drinks and acts and is treated like a regular patron. She also makes sure to come in on slow nights so as not to disturb our work. Is this legal?

Re: Right to Refuse Service?

If the restaurant is private property, its managers can ban anyone from the premises as long as the ban is not based upon race, sex, etc. Even paying, well-behaved patrons are not entitled to stay if the management wants them to leave.
