Legal Question in Consumer Law in Arizona

my ex and credit card company

My ex-wife broke a poliminary injunction and purchase 15,000 on a joint credit card. I called and talk to the furniture company and asked that the transition be canceled and they would not do it. I then sent a certified letter and copies of court paper and still to no avail. The furniture was still in their posection. They delivered it to her sole house three weeks later. Now she is not paying on the card. Also I have a court order for her to remove my name and she is failing to do that also. How can the credit card ignore my written request to stop this purchase legally when I informed them that is was purchased by her breaking a poliminary injunction. How can I get my name removed from this account?

Re: my ex and credit card company

In ARizona, you now are provided with notice to creditors forms that should be sent to all of your creditors. It sounds like you have provided a similar notice to the creditor. If your wife made the purchase after you were served, then the debt becomes her sole and separate debt as long as the divorce is finalized. Basically, after service of the divorce documents, the community liability stops. You may find it problematic if your name is on the card.
