Legal Question in Consumer Law in Arizona
Wrong Amount on Contract
I signed a contract on 2-22-2007 for a business to host my wedding at their location. On the contract they have their grand total. I signed next to it. Now, the business is saying that they made a math problem and wrote the wrong amount on the contract. They are saying that legally I owe them more money. Do I owe what's on my contract or what they tell me?

Re: Wrong Amount on Contract
Generally, the amount owed is the amount bargained for, i.e. the contract price. However, if there is a breakdown of charges, and it is simlpy an addition problem, you may want to consider the error to be a mutual mistake and pay the amount demanded. For a more specific opinion regarding your contract, I would have to review the contract.
