Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Arizona

My husband was out of work for a year, one of our collectors did not care and would not work with us as far as payment arrangments,so they are taking us to court and I received a letter saying application for default what do I do now we have 10 days to respond.

If they are requesting default, they have most likely already served you with a summons and complaint. They are requesting the court to decide that they win automatically because you never filed an answer. If you do not file an answer within ten days, the court will grant them a judgment. This judgment gives them the ability to put a lien on any property you own, levy your bank accounts, or garnish your wages. I suggest you contact a lawyer to discuss this more thoroughly.
