Collection companys

My mother recently passed away and left debt in her name. My father is now being threathened by collection agency. What can he do if he is sued?

Generally, all debt incurred during a marriage is community debt, i.e. both parties are liable regardless of whose name is on the debt. Advise the companies of your mother's passing and see if there was any insurance on the debt. I am sorry for your loss.
