Is it true that after 7 years a debt against you ''falls off''?

There are various timelines for debts. For credit reporting, some bureaus take off the debt after 10 years. For liability on a written debt (in Arizona) the timeline (statute of limitations) is 6 years. It depends on the debt and other factors.
