Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Arizona
Expired Judgement
An apartment complex got a Summary Judgement in 1996.
A renewed judgement in 2001 that expired in 2006. Six months later I recieved a letter threatening legal action. I contacted the court and was told no legal action could be taken, as all Limitations expired.
Creditor is now calling 2-3 times a week and refuses to stop.
Do I have any recourse? I never knew about any court filings until 6 months after case was closed by the court.

Re: Expired Judgement
If the judgment creditor failed to renew the judgment, then the debt collector appears to be in violation of the Fair Debt Collections Act. Ask for its address and send them written notice of their violation and demand that they stop contacting you.
