Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Arizona

Impersonating an attorney

I am being harrassed via email by an individual who is signing a ficticious name to his emails requesting money followed by the words 'Attorney at Law'. Can I file charges against him and what are the legal ramifications?

Re: Impersonating an attorney

If this person is in fact not a duly licensed attorney, they may face criminal or civil sanctions under your state's unauthorized practice of law statute.

Finding out the person's true identity could be problematic in this instance. If you have reason to believe the emails are bogus, you may wish to report them as spam to your email provider or host.
