Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Arizona
voluntery repossession
I owned a mobile home. I was forced to give it back to the finance company. I owned them around 43K This was in January of 2003. Now an collection agency is contacting me for the debt. My only income is SSD & VA Disability. Can they do a lein on my checking account? I have no assets. I now live in florida.

Re: voluntery repossession
A collection agency who is acting for the creditor can't do anything except call you or write you.
If the creditor obtains a judgment against you, the judgment will give it the right to try to garnish your checking account. However, your SS and VA disability pay are exempt from garnishment.
