Legal Question in Criminal Law in Arizona

aggrevated assault with a deadly weapon

My friend was hanging out at her friends house when my friends ex came over. they got in an argument and he pinned her down which was choking her. when she managed to get free she punched him. Then he was still there yelling at her and she got scared and pulled a knife out. he came at her and tried to take it from her and in the process cut his hand. She then went to the police department to file a report but apparently he beat her to it and she was locked up and charged. What are possible punishments for this charge in pinal county arizona if this is a first offense and she is found guilty.

If convicted, she faces a mandatory 5 to 15 years in prison. This is just the type of case I have successfully defended many times in that past. It sounds like a lot can be done to help her toward getting her out of this jam, but it will take a lot of work.

If you/she are looking to hire private counsel, give me a call at (six zero two) two two two - nine two three seven.
