Legal Question in Criminal Law in Arizona

Alledged Sexual Assault Charges

I am wondering in the state of arizona, a friend of mine was charged with 3 counts of attempted sexual assault for allegedly fondling someone while incarcerated. They were both very drunk and incapacitated and friend does not remember but a small fragment of the night. I read the sexual assault law and it states that he had to willfully and knowingly do this and this is not the case. I am wondering if he goes with a public defender if he can most likely still get these charges dropped to a misdemeanor. Money is the issue some of these attorneys want 30k to take the case. Is there an attorney that wont charge an arm and a leg that can help

Re: Alledged Sexual Assault Charges

I understand that money is the big issue here, however believe me when I tell you that you get what you pay for. Aside from the prison time that these charges carry, there is the stigma of being registered as a sex offender for life.

More than half of my practice is in the defense of sex crimes. I have a lot of experience in handling them and have gotten some great results for others in the past. I'm happy to sit down and talk to and your friend about the situation. I can't tell you exactly what I'd charge, but I don't believe that it would be $30,000. Again, please realize that to work up a strong defense, it require employing experts and investigators so it can be costly. But balance that out against being a registered sex offfender and come to your own conclusions.
