Legal Question in Criminal Law in Arizona

Alleged keying of car

At work someone was accused by a customer of ''keying'' a car in a parking lot where this person was working. This was not proven although there is alleged video. No charges were made, but this person lost their job the next day for unrelated issues, although they never were issues in the past year of work history. The keying was strongly denied as this person didn't do it. Now two weeks later the police want this person to come to the station tomorrow or be issued a warrant. What should this person do/expect will happen? Should a lawyer go along? Is this person considered guilty?

Re: Alleged keying of car

While cooperation is important, particulary if this person did nothing(I assume if it did not happen then the video will show nothing), remember that any "hel" so to speak, such as admitting anything, only bolsters their case. Without proof, there is no crime. I would highly suggest a lawyer if they insist on questioning this person. THe detective is misleading this person because there can be no arrest warrant without probable cause to arrest. It is likely they want to question this person because they know they have agood chance of convincing this person to talk. Once they do then they will have PC to arrest. I would advise this person not to say anything and make it clear to the detective that although they did nothing, they would like the presence of an attorney for the protection of their rights.
