Legal Question in Criminal Law in Arizona

Can someone be arrested in Arizona for a bench warrant in Kentucky? My boyfriend went to court after being bonded out of jail for DUI and having oxycodone without a prescription. He went to court and was given a payment plan, which he has not paid anything, and was supposed to serve two more days in jail, which he didn't. If he is found to have a bench warrant in Kentucky will he be arrested here in Arizona and extradited to Kentucky? Thanks for you time.

If the court issues a bench warrant for his arrest he could be arrested and extradited. However, some courts issue bench warrants on a national broadcast while others only statewide. It is usual for felony cases to issue nationally while misdemeanors usually get only statewide broadcast.

Should he be arrested in Arizona he can waive extradtion and voluntarily return to Kentucky, or he can fight extration and have a hearing set in Arizona on the extradition.
