Legal Question in Criminal Law in Arizona
Attempting to find a specific law
I am trying to find the law that states that one cannot sue for damages sustained during a criminal act. For instance, if a drug dealer were to not be paid by a client, they could not take the client to court to collect the money because the transaction itself started out as a crime. I was hoping to find the law(s) that deal with this sort of issue (not necessarily having to do with drug sales, but with anything).
Thank you for your time!

Re: Attempting to find a specific law
You are looking for the law of contracts. The law will not enforce an illegal contract. A drug deal is an illegal contract.
