Legal Question in Criminal Law in Arizona
attorney & client relationship
3 months ago i hired a criminal attorney here in this city whom was recommended to me thru the internet on a particular legal matter .
This attorney is part of a rather big family firm so i felt
some what at ease with him .I was informed how much this legal action usually cost and i was reguired to put down 2,000 dollors before commencing work. Which i did .
Two months went by with out hearing from him, finally i contacted him by mail asking why. He called back with in two days and told me the investigation was going to be over within a few days . I waited for him to call to set up but he did not so i made one !
I feel i'm going to get screwed out of my 2,000 and i have no one to turn .Question Is the a normal client attorney relationship ? Thank you

Re: attorney & client relationship
You are entitled to (1) an explanation of the status of your case and (2) an itemized list of fees/expenses, upon request. Write and ask specifically for these, and request that you be kept advised regularly. If you don't get what you need your options are (1) terminate his services and retain other counsel, or (2) file a complaint with the AZ Bar Association. They will provide you with the form/information you require.
