Legal Question in Criminal Law in Arizona
I am being charged with a criminal offense. It had the potential to be a felony, but the cops that questioned me and issued me my ticket said it will be charged as a misdemeanor. I have a court date and everything, do I need a lawyer present and since I plan on pleading guilty will the judge give me my punishment that day or will I have to wait for another court date?

You should not go to court without an attorney, and even more importantly you should not plead guilty without a lawyer. At the very least you should have someone review your situation before you make any decisions. As to whether you will be sentenced on the same date as the guilty plea, the answer depends on information that you have not provided (for example: the charge, the court, your criminal history, etc.).
