Legal Question in Criminal Law in Arizona
I had a check stolen out of my mail box (to pay a bill). The police found it in the home of a suspected burglar. Now months later I got a letter in the mail from the Sheriff's office saying I was being subpoenaed to appear in court in connection with a case against the burglar. I don't want anything to do with the matter, lost no money, never filed any charges, and can't afford to take the time off of work. The letter said I could be arrested if I don't comply. Am I obligated legally to appear in court?
