Legal Question in Criminal Law in Arizona
concurrent sentencing
i have two cases before me both drug related
one federal one county. neither one is related to the other. my lawyer says i can do both federal and county concurrently but my probation officer says no. oh my lawyer is a public defender. who is right?

Re: concurrent sentencing
The state sentence may be served concurrently with the federal sentence. The reverse is NOT true. It is important to have the federal sentencin imposed, followed by imposition of the state sentence to run concurrently.
