Legal Question in Criminal Law in Arizona

Consumption of spirituous liquor

I am 18 years old and I was recently charged with the consumption of spirituous liquor and for having spirituous liquor in a motor vehicle. I was riding in the passenger seat, and a police officer observed me taking a drink from a Corona (beer). Is that still the consumption of spirituous liquor? My BAC was .03 and the only thing i had had to drink that morning was the beer that the police officer saw. Im fairly short on cash, is there anyway i can plea bargin or do something to reduce my fine?

Re: Consumption of spirituous liquor

beer is an alcoholic beverage. It is illegal to drink any alcoholic beverage in a vehicle in California. Tell your financial problems to the judge and ask for an alternative to paying the fine. You could opt to stay in jail in lieu of paying a fine.
