Legal Question in Criminal Law in Arizona
I was convicted of possession of a controlled substance in 2003 and served 2.5 years. I have since totally turned my life around, have a stable work history, and money in the bank. I am having great difficulty finding a place to live as I am seperated and have moved out of my husbands home, and every where I go they run a background check and deny my application. Do I have any legal recourse? How long is a felony held against you? It was my understanding that it wouldn't be visible any longer after 5 years passed.

You could ask a judge to set aside the felony conviction. That would probably be the best thing to do. You can ask any court clerk how to start the process. Good luck!
