Re: criminal weapons
This is a complicated question and there are very many variables to determine this. For example, if the officer has a reasonable suspicion that criminal activity is occurring, the officer may search the vehicle. However, he must limit the search to the location of where he may find evidence of that particular crime. I.e. If he believes the vehicle is stolen he may only search the glove compartment since that is where he would find the registration. He can also search the vehicle for a weapons check if he believes that he may be harmed by a weapon. Hope that helps some.
