Why is she in custody?
First, have you spoken to her at all at this point? If not and you can't get any answers from the detention center as to what is going on...I would recommend hiring an attorney for her so that the attorney could look into what is going on. If she is being held under charges of a criminal nature, she has a right to an attorney and the attorney will be able to find out what is going on and will also be allowed to meet with her to ask her what has occurred. You should ask the attorney to get written permission from her to inform you as to the status of what is going on because, ordinarily, the communications between attorney and client are privileged. Even if she has a public defender, she is entitled to her choice of an attorney. Although you would pay for the attorney, the attorney's client would still be your daughter. If your daughter does not wish to have the attorney update you on what is going on...that is also her right. I hope this helps. You may contact me if you have further questions.
