Legal Question in Criminal Law in Arizona

Domestic Violence

I have been charged with 2 counts of assault...one against my mom and one against my husband. A huge argument (non-physical)pursued btwn myself and my husband one night. My mom overheard us and started screaming. She has recently been diagnosed as bi-polar, manic depressive, suffers from anxiety disorder and is a sever alcoholic, who lives with me and I support. Anyways, she was completly freaking out and punched me in the mouth. I grabbed her, pushed her to the ground and poured the can of beer I had in my hand on her head to try and snap her out of it (not the first time she has done this). My sister in law saw me on top of her and called the police. long story short, my mom lied to the police and said i attacked her. I went to jail for the night. when i got home she had written me an apology letter saying ''the day i lay a hand on one of my children is the day i've hit rock bottom, i will never drink again''. I went to court and was offered an outraegous plea deal...I did not take it. I did not commit a crime. My mom will testify on my behalf (in a sober state) of what really happened. I also have the letter she wrote and have obtained copies of all of her medical records. Can you see the prosecutor realy tkng this case to trial?

Re: Domestic Violence

Sadly, prosecutors would rather try these cases and lose than fold. If you are looking to hire private counsel, please feel free to give me a call at (six zero two) two two two - nine two three seven.
