Legal Question in Criminal Law in Arizona

felony drug parephenelia charge

in flagstaff, AZ, i was arrested for possesion of drug parephenelia(felony as of any other drug related charge in AZ) i served 5 days in jail, until i was informed by my public defendant(complete idiot) that i was being released.i did have a court date set up, but upon release, i immediately skipped town to avoid any further jail time. what i need to know, is if a felony warrant was issued because of the missed court date. would the judge have told me ''time served'' if i had gone? and how far will a felony of this class follow me? thank you for your time. -M

Re: felony drug parephenelia charge

The felony charge will remain active in AZ virtually forever. There are no time constraints for felony charges for a fugitive [that's what you are], and if you were apprehended in AZ for any reason the warrant would pop up and you would be held to account for it.

Whether or not you are subject to extradition on this warrant is impossible to tell, but if there was any substantial quantity of illegal drugs you may well be.

It is best to deal with these by retaining an AZ attorney and having him/her advise you about what to do to get rid of these charges.
