Fraud(forgery)

How do I get myself out of this mess. I received a check which I paid into my account.

It was found to be a fake check. I received this check in the mail from a guy in Canada named Martins.

I have his number, I called him to confirm it was a good check.

He confirmed it, but only found out it was fake.

He had said it was a check for lottery winnings.I have all evidence of correspondence to confirm this winnings.

Please, I need to get out of this mess because I have been put on probation and debarred from getting any good job.

I have a Masters Degree in Finance from Nigeria.

I need your help to get out of this mess.

The crime of forgery requires proof that the person charged knew that the check or other inturment involved was forged. If you are charged with forgery, the prosecution will have to prove & all other elements of that offense beyond a resonable doubt to the jury.
