my friend was involved in some credit card fraud and is now in jail and on trial. what kinda sentence can he see if found guilty

The answer depends on many factors, including which laws he's accused of breaking, how many times he broke them, how much money was involved, how his actions impacted the victims, what kind of criminal history he has, etc. If he was working with others, his degree of responsibility relative to them (and the extent to which he received the benefits of the scheme) will also be important.
