Legal Question in Criminal Law in Arizona
House arrest without trial
A friend of mine was put on house arrest for violating a protection order. There was no violence but he is guilty of contacting her repeatedly after the restraining order was in place. He is now charged with felony harassment and stalking. He has electronic monitoring in place and cannot leave his house except for work. How long can they have this in place without a trial? The first trial was postponed and it appears that the prosecution intends to drag this on as long as possible.

Re: House arrest without trial
Generally, when the Defendant is in custody they have to bring it to trial within 150 days from the arraignment.
