Legal Question in Criminal Law in Arizona

juvenile

My son was arrested for planning a shooting @ his school but with no edvidence. Arrest was strictly based on information from 5 students which do not like him. He is honor roll student and has no trouble @ school from bullies or teachers. He has been held in detention center since Thursday, will be released on house arrest on Monday. He has 1 prior for possesion he did a diversion, 1 prior for shoplifting which was going to be reffered for diversion. We are to be assigned a court appointed attorney. I would greatly appreciate any advice you could give and wonder if we should seek a provate attorney.

Thank you for you time.

Re: juvenile

This is a situation that should be taken very seriously. Having dealt with similar incidents, schools and police are very concerned about a 'real' incident and obviously felt that way or your son would not have been arrested. The court will have to determine release conditions and I do hope that he can be released. As to getting a private attorney, it really helps to have someone to work with you one on one and who will treat your son like a person and not a file. I'd be happy to chat with you if you want to give me a call at (six zero two) two two two -nine two three seven. I will be out of town for much of tomorrow but will be checking messages.
