Legal Question in Criminal Law in Arizona

Judge Montiel represented Conchola (Supt.of Schools,AZ)for embezzlement. Conchola got a couple of months in jail, probation, & community service. Question: Can Judge Montiel represent someone he's related to? His wife's sister is Conchola's wife. Thank you.

An Attorney can represent someone they are related to. There is no rule against it, although in some cases they may wished they hadn't.
