Locked up a year, and still no trial date

My son, who has been locked up for more than a year without bail, still has no trial date. He does not have a prior record. The crime is Home Invasion, kidnapping, armed robbery, etc. He has denied the charges and even told the authorities who did commit the crime. They obviously don't believe him and did not investigate thoroughly. They, unfortunately, do not believe a father could set up his own son, as this is what they told me. Isn't this a violation of his civil rights to a speedy trial? What about innocent until proven guilty? Isn't he entitled to a reasonable bail? He went through five court-appointed attorneys before I was forced to borrow money to hire an attorney. Court appointed attorneys refused his calls and would not go see him. One was disbarred, and one was his father's attorney and dis-qualified himself. You cannot imagine what this last year has been for us. My son is learning disabled and was just 21 years old when this happened. My being in Ohio has seemed to leave me helpless. When I hired this attorney he couldn't believe the circumstances, yet its been about four months and still not even a court date. Is there anything I can do? Is there anything that can be done?Please...

It is very difficult to do anything in Arizona from Ohio. I underastand your dilema. But, trust the most recent attorney or get a new one. In Ohio if the case is not tried within a certain time period, it is dismissed due to speedy trial. The Court may have held some of the delays against your son due to the new attorney's getting up to speed.
