Legal Question in Criminal Law in Arizona
using a made up identity (not someone else's)
I have a friend who is thinking about getting a fake id with a deceased ssn to match the d.o.b to make him under 21. the purpose is to get services from a youth outreach place. i told him that it's illegal to do that but he says that he's only going to use a different date of birth. my question is this: if the outreach found out that he was not under 21 and he recieved services and benefits from them, couldn't they press charges and sue him or have him arrested even though he wouldn't be stealing anyone's identity? thanks

Re: using a made up identity (not someone else's)
This is surely illegal. What you suggest constitutes forgery and/or taken the identity of another. Both are felonies punishable by prison.
