Legal Question in Criminal Law in Arizona
A month ago my car got taken away as evidence for a burglary case. I was not involved in this and still got my car taken away. The suspect is now in custody and i still haven't been able to get my car back? what can i do? Detectives never return my calls.

The first question to be anwered did the government file a notice of forfeiture? If so, you must follow the rules regarding the forfeiture. If no forfeiture was instituted, then you may try contacting the attorney prosecuting the case to get a release for the police department to return your vehicle. Even if the car is evidence the government can take photos of the vehicle as evidence unless there is an objection by a party to the case and the court agrees.
