possible punishment for forgery

i need to know what are the possible sentences a person could recive for forgery wether thru a plea or trial including first time offenders whove never been in trouble b4 also rights and similiar cases to cashing a stolen check that was given to u by a third party unknown by you that it was stolen

Forgery is a class 4 felony punishable by up to 3 years and 9 months in state prison. As a first offender a plea would likely involve probation and possibly jail. I don't believe in pleading people guilty who did nothing wrong. Based on the information presented, I'd encourage you to go to trial where a jury could find you not guilty.
