Legal Question in Criminal Law in Arizona

Punishment for not paying fine

A neighbor reported that I had a protected or endangered desert tortoise in my yard.

Fish and Game came and asked about it – it was within site. They took it and I had to go to court and was fined under $500.00. I moved to another state and did not pay the fine. What could happen to me about this?

Re: Punishment for not paying fine

States do not extradite for misdemeanors, so they will not come after you. If you are later caught in AZ, however, expect to spend a lengthy time in jail for your FTA. The future is uncertain. It would be wise to take care of this before it takes care of you.
