Legal Question in Criminal Law in Arizona
Shoplifting in Arizona
I have been accused of Shoplifting 270 dollars worth of merchandise in Arizona, I was caught red handed on the spot and pretty much admitted guilt. the court date is coming up soon and I was wondering a few things. What Plea should I enter in order to recieve a Pre-trial conference? is it necessary to enter a plea of Not guilty in order to have a conference? I have read that I must initially Plead Not guilty in order to recieve a Pre-trial conference, then at the conference a deal will be offered to me in the form of a reduced sentence, expunged record, and possible community service and counseling. I am a first time offender and upstanding student who made a stupid mistake. Please help. Thank you.

Re: Shoplifting in Arizona
Have to plead not guilty. Attempt to get into shoplifting program, so you will have no conviction.
