shoplifting consequences
i was caught shoplifting at jcpenny, Arizona worth 35$ and this is my first offense. I am an immigrant on H1 status. i hired an attorney and he applied for pretrial. What cud be the consequences? will this stay on my record forever and will i have problems with my H-1 stamping and greencard processing?wat cud be the punishments?

Shoplifting requires an intent to steal. Thus, it is a crime of moral turpitude. That means your visa could be revoked or not renewed and you could face removal if you are convicted of shoplifting. Punishment depends on the charge you are convicted of.
