Legal Question in Criminal Law in Arizona
my son is being charged with 2 class 4 felonies (fraud). he took a stolen check with his friend and the forged the owners name and tried to cash it, but were unable to. the detective he went to see (who formally arrested n released him) said he will get 1-9 yrs in prison. this is his first time ever being in trouble. is it more likely he will only get probation?

Don't ever take legal advice from a detective. In order to give you an accurate assessment, all the details need to be known. More importantly, even in a worst case scenario, your son needs to have good representation to not only try to keep him out of prison, but also to avoid a felony on his record. If you are looking to hire an attorney for him, give me a call to further discuss his case.
