Legal Question in Criminal Law in Arizona
My stepson has been charged with the crime of assault, and when he requested a public defender from the judge, as he is unemployed and has no assets, the judge denied him the right to representation. Can anyone tell me why this might possibly be legal in the state of Arizona?

There has to be more to the story. I would have to know more to be able to appropriately answer your question, other than to say that generally a person charged with a crime in Arizona "is" entitled to court appointed counsel. I'll be more than happy to discuss the circumstances with you. You can call or email me.
