Legal Question in Criminal Law in Arizona

My uncle was recently arrested on felony criminal charges. I would like to be there through out his trial and everything but cannot miss to much work. Tomorrow Is his status conference. Does anyone know how long that will last and what goes on there and if family is allowed. He has his preliminary on Friday. Does anyone know how long that will take and if family is allowed at that and what goes on there. Will he be at any of these meetings. We are in phoenix if that makes a difference

Status conference in Maricopa County AZ is set up to make plea offers and to plead guilty. Depending on whether the case is in the RCC or EDC as to whether an offer will be made. For many felony charges the status conference is cancelled as well as the preliminary hearing and the case is sent to the Grand Jury for charging. You won't find out about this because Grand Jury proceedings are secret. The accused usually will receive a summons on any indictment by the Grand Jury.
