Legal Question in Criminal Law in Arizona

Violating probation

This person was on probation for a class 6 misdemeanor(theft) and assault with a deadly weapon-two different charges tried in one court. Without the plea bargain of probation this person was threatened with 3 1/2 years of prison by his county appointed attorney. At present, this person left the state of Arizona to another state. Until just recently, this person has a good job, a house, awaiting the birth of his first child;basically has became a good citizen and trying to do the right thing. Recently, he was pulled over in Texas for a minor traffic violation, and was then put into jail on request of Arizona to extradite him back for violation of probation. He had been incarcerated for 9 days and is now after 3 days still being transported to Arizona. Can this person get more probation time instead of prison time? Also, what is the time limit on the right to a fair and speedy trial? Is it illegal after 10 days?
