Legal Question in Criminal Law in Arizona
My wife is a volunteer at a school. She is repsonsible to handle large sums of money for a scool organization. I just found out that she is taking that money ($2500). Am I implicated in this? I have had no contact, it is in an account with out my name on it. We are just beginning the divorce process. So, what can happen to me?

In brief, spouses are not responsible for the personal criminal acts committed by the other spouse. It can be more complicated- and sometimes is- but without more facts this is the appropriate, limited answer: no knowledge = no responsibility. You might start a more thorough analysis on your own by asking yourself, "are there any facts that would lead a regular, reasonable person to believe that I've taken some part in this?" Depending on your non-delusional, clear-headed, intellectually honest answer to this question, you will have an idea of what might happen to you. After doing this and depending on the answer you come up with, consider seeking counsel with an experienced criminal defense attorney.
