Legal Question in DUI Law in Arizona

My car was impound...need it back!

I was charged with DUI last Sat with a BAC of .11. I was not involved in an accident but my vehicle was damaged because I struck a pole. I need to begin the process of getting my car repaired, but my car in a 30-day impound lot. From what I've read, only extreme and aggravated dui's require vehicle impound. I was also charged with open container in the vehicle. My question is why is my car impounded and do I need to schedule a hearing with the MVD to get my car out??? Please help!
