DUI Dismissed with predjudice.. person
In Oct. 2006, my son went to court for a ticket he received for DUI. He got pulled over at noon during a ''DWI road block. The paper the cop gave him said he had a Blood test but they gave him a urine test. The urine sample was ''lost'' so the judge dismissed the case with prejudice. He was told by someone that if they didn't contact him by Dec. 2006 the charges would be dropped. He was not contacted by the court. Feb. 20, 2007 my son moved to Australia where he was getting married to an Australian girl May 5,2007. The wedding was great and they are living in Australia. When we came home from the Wedding May 13, my son had a piece of mail telling him to appear in court.
I called his court appointed attorney to ask what I shoud do. He said do nothing. Don't contact anyone. Now my son has a warrent for his arrest, and his drivers license, which he was using in Australia has been suspended. I feel like I should contact someone and let them know he moved. What can be done? Any suggestions?

If the case was dismissed with prejudice it should not have been refiled. It also looks like some sloppy police work. Consider hiring private counsel rather that a Public Defender. It appears that you got your money's worth.
