Revoking a Medical POA...
We set up a medical POA for my husband's mother and had put his sister in charge and my husband as an alternate. Now we don't think she has his mother's best interests at heart and would like to permantly remove her name from this document. His mother hates confrontation and thinks her daughter is ''doing so much for me'' when all the daughter seems to be able to talk about is her ''inevitable'' death and what to do with the assets etc. At times I don't think his mother is competent enough to sign any more papers and the notary at the nursing home has stated that she won't be notarizing any more papers. We had these papers set up in January of this year. How do we go about getting his sister's name off of the Medical POA? My husband is the one who drew up the papers. We live in AZ.

Without seeing the document(s), I could not comment on their validity at this time. The best course of action to follow, is to petition in Court for appointment as Mom's permanent Guardian and Conservator, and the court will determine who is acting in the best interests of Mom as well as her capacity to make decisions for herself. Take action as quickly as you can, and before something happens to her.
