Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona
I am currently 9 months pregnant with my son. My ex decided, when I was 8 months pregnant, that he didn't want to be with me anymore. He hasn't contacted me up until today, only wanting to talk about his rights to his son. He has quite an extensive criminal record, DUI, prison, fictitious plates, etc. He's on probation, has numerous amounts of fines built up in the system he has not paid. He started drinking again while I was pregnant and started to get physically abusive. I finally left him and see more and more how unfit he is to be a father. I'm amazed he hasn't been caught drinking by his surveillance officer yet or been pulled over with his suspended license or driving drunk. I'm curious as to how I could obtain full custody of my child as I do feel he'd be in danger. My ex has been physical with me while pregnant and I'm petrified he'd do it to my son.

We can certainly help you consider and then pursue your options for sole custody and whatever restricted parenting rights with Father that you believe to be in the child's best interests. This is obviously a very important matter, and you should not go in alone.
One of our attorneys can explain the issues and procedures better in person. As you can imagine, there is too much to cover via email. We offer free 1/2 hour consultations, in which we can discuss your matter in detail.
Please call us directly to discuss the specifics of your matter, or contact my assistant Gina or my paralegal Jennifer to schedule your free 1/2 hour consultation.
