Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona
Hello,
1st question, my daughters mom wants me to pay child support. She sent the documents to my mothers house. She knows I do not live there. I live in another state. Because she did that I was not able to respond in the amount of time granted. What do I do? 2nd question...She left the state with our child, this is the second time she has done this. How can I address this issue? Each time I did not want her to leave she even quit her job to do so. Before she left I was her full support she lived with me over 6 months.

You can ask the judge to set aside any order she received as invalid based on bad service of process. Assuming you were never married, you should initiate a paternity action asking for custody, parenting time and child support rights. Until you are granted rights by the court, there is not much you can do to prevent the mom from relocating.
I would need to know more, BUT I WILL SAY THAT YOU SHOULD ACT QUICKLY. The sooner you take steps, the easier it will be to UNDO whatever she has done.
We can certainly help you consider and then pursue your options. This is obviously a very important matter, and you should not go in alone.
One of our attorneys can explain the issues and procedures better in person. As you can imagine, there is too much to cover via email. We offer free 1/2 hour consultations, in which we can discuss your matter in detail.
Please call us directly to discuss the specifics of your matter, or contact my assistant Gina or my paralegal Jennifer to schedule your free 1/2 hour consultation.
