Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona

I have a 2yr old daughter with my ex boyfriend whom I've been with for 3 1/2 years. After finding out that he was secretly lying about having another girl we broke up. I want full custody of my daughter or even primary custody. He wants joint custody. He's is currently on probation for possesion of illegal drugs.I dont think he is a fit father. What are my chances of getting full custody?

Well, there is no way to know 100 percent, especially without more information, and it's utlimately up to the judge. But a conviction for possession of illegal drugs certainly won't help his case. You may get sole physical custody and maybe joint legal custody. If you're really lucky he would get only supervised visitation. Otherwise it's probably going to be unsupervised visitation. I would need more information to further advise. Thank you.

It is difficult to assess "chances". BUT, joint legal custody is about DECISIONS. And if he has shown poor decision making ability, then I like your chances.

Joint PHYSICAL custody is about parenting. His decision to use drugs will certainly impact how much time a Judge may give him of a young child.

We can certainly help you consider and then pursue your options.
